What Students Say
"My tutoring experience with Hanees was invaluable to my test prep. I had twice failed to meet my target score. After working with Hanees for 8 weeks, I was able to exceed my target score and enroll in my desired branch and speciality. He explained concepts exceptionally and showed me multiple ways to solve different problems. If I was stuck, instead of repeating the same explanation, he approached it from a different angle which helped me see things in the way that I am used to thinking. I couldn't have done it without his help, and I'm so very grateful!"

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before getting started.
How does weekly preparation work?
Weekly ASVAB preparation includes 4 private 1-hour lessons per week for $290 -- a savings compared with the individual lesson rate.
What is the ASVAB?
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude test used by the U.S. military. It measures abilities in areas such as mathematics, verbal skills, science, and technical knowledge. ASVAB scores are used to help determine military enlistment eligibility and qualification for military jobs.
What is a good ASVAB score?
The ASVAB produces an AFQT score, reported as a percentile from 1–99. The minimum AFQT score required for enlistment varies by military branch. Your other ASVAB scores are also used to determine which military jobs you may qualify for.
What subjects are on the ASVAB?
The ASVAB covers 10 subtests: General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto Information, Shop Information, Mechanical Comprehension, and Assembling Objects. The exact subtests administered can vary depending on the testing format.
How can I best prepare for the ASVAB?
Effective preparation includes reviewing the subjects covered on the ASVAB, strengthening your math and verbal skills, practicing ASVAB-style questions, and identifying and improving your weaker areas. Consistent practice can help you become more familiar with the test and improve your performance.
How many times can I take the ASVAB?
The waiting periods apply regardless of whether you take the computer-based test (iCAT) or the paper-and-pencil version.
Second attempt: you must wait 1 calendar month after your first test.
Third attempt: you must wait 1 calendar month after your second test.
Fourth attempt (and beyond): you must wait 6 calendar months after your third test, and 6 months after every subsequent test.
How long will it take me to get ready for the ASVAB?
Most students study anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to prepare for their ASVAB, most specifically focusing on the math sections (Arithmetic Reasoning and Math Knowledge). How much study time each student needs depends on their starting knowledge, skills and abilities, and their degree of engagement.
